Positive impact of green space?

According to a recent article by the BBC, researchers in the Netherlands have discovered a positive link between living near green spaces and better health. It's an interesting conclusion that does not seem to be causally-linked, but is instead statistically correlated.

Basically, we don't know what causes what exactly, but we do know that if you live close to a green space, you are more likely to be healthy. Perhaps its that people who live closer to green spaces actually exercise more or take better care of themselves, or maybe its just being next to plants.

Whatever it is, its all the more reason for us to work towards greening the areas in which we live - with parks, with original growth, with community gardens, with green roofs, or whatever other creative way we can come up with.
